Are BCN Airport Parking Facilities Adequate?

Regardless of which terminal you are departing from, finding a parking spot at Barcelona–El Prat Airport is not an issue. Both terminals are fully equipped to meet current parking demands, while also accounting for future growth as BCN continues to strengthen its position as a major European aviation hub.

Before arriving at the airport, it is advisable to confirm your departure terminal and review the available parking options accordingly.

El Prat Airport Car Parks at Terminal 1 (T1)

Terminal 1 offers a wide range of parking solutions, covering short stays, long stays, premium services, and VIP handling. Whether affordability, proximity, or convenience is your priority, T1 has a suitable option.

T1 General Car Park

The main parking facility at T1 is a covered, nine-level, monitored car park with more than 9,000 parking spaces. It is directly connected to the terminal building and features clear electronic signage indicating available spaces.

This car park is the closest general parking option to T1 and is mainly recommended for stays of up to 4 days.

T1 Express Car Park

The T1 Express Car Park is designed for short stays, passenger drop-offs, and pick-ups. It is located close to the Departures level and allows parking for up to 24 hours.

Note: Parking at BCN Express Car Parks is free for the first 10 minutes.

Preferential (Premium) Car Park – T1

A dedicated premium parking section is located on the second floor of the nine-story T1 car park. It provides quick and direct access to the D, E, and F areas of the terminal, making it ideal for travelers who value proximity and comfort.

T1 VIP Parking Areas

VIP parking services are available throughout the T1 complex. Drivers simply drop off their vehicle in front of the terminal and retrieve it from the same location upon return. These areas are fully monitored and offer personalized valet-style services.

El Prat Airport Car Parks at Terminal 2 (T2)

Terminal 2 also provides multiple parking options, covering general, express, and VIP needs.

T2 General Car Park

The T2 General Car Park is an open-air parking area located directly in front of T2A, T2B, and T2C. It offers more than 8,000 parking spaces and is guarded by security staff.

Walking distance to the terminal is just 2–3 minutes. This option is ideal for stays of up to 4 days.

T2 Express Car Park

Short-term parking, drop-offs, and pick-ups at T2 are handled via the Express Car Park, located near the terminal entrance. Parking is allowed for up to 24 hours.

Note: The first 10 minutes are free, after which express rates apply.

T2 VIP Parking Areas

VIP parking at T2 offers maximum convenience. Vehicles are handed over directly to authorized airport staff at the terminal entrance and returned to the same point after your trip.

Long-Stay Parking at Barcelona Airport

The Long-Stay Parking Area is located approximately 2 km / 1.2 miles from Terminal 1, along the road connecting both terminals. It is intended for extended stays and is available only with prior reservation.

This parking option is served by a free shuttle bus:

  • High season: every 20 minutes, 04:30–00:30
  • October–March: every 20 minutes, 05:00–00:00

After-hours service is available upon request.

Barcelona Airport Parking Fees

Parking fees vary depending on the selected parking area. Payment procedures are the same across all facilities:

  • Collect a ticket upon entry
  • Pay at automatic payment machines (inside or outside terminals)
  • Insert the ticket when exiting

Pre-booking is strongly recommended, as it offers lower rates and better availability.
